I've been showing off my watches in photos all my life without being conscious of it. Also for the past few years I have found myself heading straight for the watch counters at every store and didn't know why. In December 2007 I found a website called Poor Man's Watch Forum ( after lurking there for about a month or so, I became a member in January 2008. That was the singular defining act in my becoming a WIS (Watch Idiot Savant, a term we refer to ourselves by!). Read more below the slides...

At the end of 2007 I had two watches, the Rolex and the Seiko Kinetic you see on this slideshow. In January 2008, I purchased the white Invicta and the black Orient with Christmas money. My collecting took off from there. As of June 22, 2008, I have bought around 30 watches and haven't yet sold a one! I‘ve given a few away, like a dummy!!

Style-wise, I love variety, different colors and styles. I wear a different watch every day and want to feel that it is vastly different from the previous day's. In six months my preference has moved from dressy, gold or two-tone to Stainless Steel tool watches, mostly divers. More recently I'm digging vintages, but have yet to move in that direction.

My favorite watch is my Omega Planet Ocean, bronze Bezel. It is in the show, plus it is the image you see indicating the time on my site. Someday I hope to own a Rolex Submariner 50th Anniversary Edition, called a "Kermit" or "froggy" because of its green bezel. I would also love to have a Breitling Superocean Heritage, 46mm in bronze

I don't know how long this keen interest will last, but for the present I'm having a ball. This month, my colleagues on PMWF honored me by electing me WIS of the Month, (WOTM). See my profile for this honor here:

My whole clan has been put on notice that from now on, including when I die, there's no more money from me, only watches! They think I'm kidding, heh, heh.
